About the role
Acepodia is seeking a highly motivated scientist with strong interest in developing novel cell-based cancer therapies. This position will play an important role in platform and pipeline development, including but not limited to key IND enabling studies, and translational studies. You will work in a supportive Research and Development team, and collaborate cross-functionally including the clinical team, manufacturing team, and other various functions.
Education / Background
• PhD in life science-related fields (Immunology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry) or Master’s with 6+ years in science-related fields.
• 2+ years of experience in cancer therapy research (CAR-T therapy-related experience is required).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
• Design/execute platform/pipeline development and preclinical studies required for IND preparation
• Conduct literature search to design in vitro/in vivo models and conduct thorough research to initiate pipeline development
• Design and manage translational studies for clinical trials including PK/PD, safety or biomarker analysis
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to drive key decisions critical for execution of various projects for the translational studies and IND submission
Position Requirements & Experience Relevant Skills & Experience
• Mammalian cell culture, cytotoxicity analysis and multi-color fluorescence flow cytometry
experience in a laboratory setting is required
• Experience in generating CAR immune cells using virus transduction, lipid nanoparticle (LNP) or
electroporation is required
• Project management experience desired
• Experience in primary gamma/delta T cell culture is desired
• Immunology background a plus
• Experience in translational studies for allogeneic CAR-T trials is a plus
• Experience in process development of CAR-T products is a plus
• Communication skills for CRO/vendor communication/management
• Writing skills and slide preparation for scientific document/presentation and official report
generation
• Organization/coordination skills to prioritize the assignments to deliver results timely
• Follow SOPs & lab guidelines and be able to work independently
• Execute laboratory quality procedures and experiments with detail to attention
• Record experimental procedures, observation, and analyze data accurately
• Self-motivated in a fast-moving team environment
• Good team player and get along well with colleagues
