About the role
Acepodia is seeking a highly motivated scientist with strong interest in developing novel ACC-based cancer therapies. This position will play an important role in developing and optimizing the cancer-targeting immune cell products and execute in vitro and in vivo studies for new pipeline development, patent application and IND enabling. You will be expected to work as an integral part of R&D team, and collaborate and communicate closely with clinical team and quality assurance team.
Education / Background
- PhD in life science-related fields (Immunology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry) or Master of Science degree with 5 years of experience)
- 2+ years of experience in cancer therapy research (cell therapy-related experience is a plus)
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Perform primary gamma delta T cell expansion to ACC-based or CAR-based pipeline development, platform optimization and donor screening
- Conduct flow cytometry-based assay to analyze surface markers of T cells
- Design and execute preclinical studies including ELISA, MLR, cytotoxicity assay
- Set up in vitro cytotoxicity models and in vivo xenograft mouse models to evaluate/initiate pipeline development
- Manage CROs to execute xenograft mouse studies using SCID-Beige, NSG or equivalent, or humanized NSG mouse models, and organize and interpret the data of bioluminescence and survival rate for presentation
Position Requirements, Relevant Skills & Experience:
Mammalian cell culture, cytotoxicity analysis, xenograft mouse study and multi-color fluorescence flow cytometry experience in a laboratory setting are required.
- Immunology background/knowledge is required
- Experience in primary T cell expansion/function is a plus
- Experience in toxicology of cell therapy/biologics is a plus
- Literature/intelligent search and summary for presentation
- Writing skills and slide preparation for scientific document/presentation and official report generation
- Organization/coordination skills to prioritize the assignments to deliver results timely
- Follow SOPs & lab guidelines and be able to work independently
- Execute laboratory quality procedures and experiments with detail to attention
- Record experimental procedures, observation, and analyze data accurately
- Self-motivated in a fast-moving team environment
- Good team player and get along well with colleagues
